Ark life.
Celina Muldoon.

My part in this project was to compose two contrasting pieces of music for a biodiversity parade through Dublin city. 'The sky was for all' is a work for performance by Celina Muldoon, an atmospheric piece composed from orchestra and field recordings. 'Breathing in deeply' is a contemporary march for adults and children featuring a march tempo, Kazoo choir and chant. supported by the Irish Arts Council and Pallas Projects and Studios.

ReBecoming.
Xiaowei Chen / Dalila Belaza

A minimalist soundwork for performance and projection. The starting point was the sound of rapid drawing, pencil moving on paper which evolved with the ultra slow movement of Belaza. Supported by 'Studio 49B', Bushwick, New York.

Requiem for a fly.
Slavek Kwi

A requiem mass composed entirely from the sounds of flies. Slavek and I composed this work by exchanging samples and compositions over the internet and reacting to what we heard. It felt quite novel at the time (2002/3). The mass accompanied a mausoleum carved out of stone, with sugar walls, where the body of a fly lay in repose. First exhibited at Project Arts Centre, this work has travelled to numerous locations throughout Ireland and Europe.

GAINING DISTANCE
Sandra Johnston

This early soundwork evolved when I was a technician on the Arts Program at Arthouse. The piece was composed from recordings made by Johnston, of long hair being brushed, intimate humming and Sandra moving inside of a piano. It accompanied a performance by Johnston which moved out of Arthouse and on to the streets of Temple Bar in Dublin.
